Hello everyone

This is a new blog so I will just post basic information.

You can all post comments also if you want to, or just look here for the latest news.

Jerry has received news about his operation. He will go into St James' Hospital in Leeds on Tuesday 29th March, and have his gastrectomy on Thursday 1st April.

He is doing well so far. He is trying to eat as much as possible to keep his weight up before the operation.

  4. Hi Jerry,

Have you got one of these phones that connect you to the internet/email? Easier than lugging a laptop around..

Anyway, do your best to relax and think positive. All the best for next Thursday.

    bisous

  5. Hi Jerry! You've chosen exactly the right time to have this procedure done! My wife, Maria, worked in a cancer clinic here in Oberaudorf, Bavaria for many years, and she tells me that that medical technology has advanced a *lot*! These gastrectomy operations go *much* more smoothly and comfortably now than only a few years ago. It will likely be only a damned inconvenience.

Hang in there, Trooper, and enjoy the pampering!

  9. I tried to post a comment yesterday but did not maneuver the sign-in correctly. Anyway, I'll have you in mind as you go in for the procedure tomorrow and am confident that it will go well. Charlie's comments give even more comfort. If one were to listen to the Republicans in the health care debate here in the US he would think you stand no chance under the "socialistic" UK system, but I'll go along with Michael Moore. I look forward to hearing how it goes on Thursday. (I am resisting the temptation to make an April Fool's joke!)
